The purpose of all Sheng Zhen forms and movements is to move more deeply into the Sheng Zhen state. The Sheng Zhen state is found through relaxation and opening the heart. When the heart is open, the soul is able to connect to the Universe, including Heaven and Earth. It is a blissful state with no worries, a feeling of oneness and merging with all. Some of the forms have accompanying contemplations that help the mind to understand Sheng Zhen philosophy better. Progress is made more easily by studying the contemplations in addition to practicing the movements.
Sheng Zhen is unconditional love. Not only does the practitioner benefit from the Sheng Zhen state, but family members and friends also benefit. Relationships improve as the environment becomes more peaceful and loving. Problems dissolve as focus moves to the big picture. The Earth also benefits. As we realize our connection to everything, we begin to take action to care for the people around us as well as the Earth. We become more loving toward ourselves, toward each other, and toward all living things.
This form is seated and has 10 movements to help relax the body and open the heart. Unconditional love and qi are then able to $ow into the body for healing.
The first 9 movements of this form are seated. The 10th movement is standing, but can be done seated if the practitioner is unable to stand. In Stage I, we have gathered qi and love from the Universe. Now it moves deeper into the cells, generating new energy and healing.
This form also has 10 movements and is seated. It is best learned after having practiced Stages I and II regularly for some time. Having a more advanced ability to relax and open the heart means the practitioner will benefit more from this form.
The purpose of practicing Heart Mind As One is to experience Heaven’s power in the body and in your being. The inherent beauty of the movements draws out the experience of pure love. There is nothing
more powerful than the power of unconditional love. It is experienced in compassion, in forgiveness and in wisdom. It is also experienced in pure power – in the power that creates, in the power that
transforms. You merge into this all-encompassing power in the practice of Heart Mind As One.
This form is for calming the disposition. A calm disposition has no worries and is able to nurture qi. A calm disposition is empty; it has no cares. Qi is in harmony; the body is in balance. This is the essence of health. In watching the qi circulate, the mind has no thoughts. When the mind is open, there are no worries. Movement becomes stillness.
This can be practiced at any time but a quiet or tranquil atmosphere is best. If practiced seven times a day, one finds a solution to everything; five times a day, the mind is freed of worries. If practiced three times a day, regularly, the body is kept fit; if once a day, knowledge is obtained gradually.
After one has experienced pure love in one’s own heart through Heart Mind As One, expressing love and faith comes naturally. Each individual lives in his own pure world but also lives in the heart and soul of every other person. This form is both moving and non-moving. The physical movements are for cultivation qi. The inner stillness is to bring you back to the heart. When the physical movements have ceased, your heart experiences its original purity. It is then that you are released from your past confusions and difficulties.
